So some kid threw out an Xbox at dad’s work the other day so he brought it home to see what was wrong with it. Turns out it had the dreaded red ring of death. Well it wasn’t a full red ring but 1 Quarter which means it was a hardware problem, specifically an e74.
You can send them to microsoft to fix it for $99, but we didn’t want to really do that nor was there any warranty left on it so first instinct was to throw it back out.
Glad we didn’t go with that.
Over the last few days I have be looking up, getting the right tools and figuring it all out and I have successfully brought the xbox back to working condition.
Yes, I fixed the red ring of death. and Yes, I just got a free Xbox 360.
